Doug Knowles and Tim Miers do a regular series of Saturday “Walks and Talks” visiting historical sites in the local area.
They are also available for special bookings for schools and social clubs. Here’s the 2015 Programme.
Adults: $8.00 ea. Children under 16 years: Free, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. (No dogs please.)
Bookings are essential. Phone Doug. on 4751 3275. (Please allow phone to ring more than usual), or Tim on 4739 2384 for details re meeting place, time and grade of walk. Good walking shoes are essential. Please bring a hat and drinking water.
Special Bookings: Social clubs, School Groups, etc. Times and days to suit your organisation can be arranged for a standard fee of $40.00 for a Glenbrook Historical Society tour guide.
Bad Weather on the Day: Excessive wind or rain could cause postponement to the following Saturday at the same time and place.

Sat. 7th 9.00am Eastern Zig Zag Railway 1867 and the first improvement; the Lapstone Tunnel route 1892.
Sat 28th 9.00am The Descent to the West. Mt York. Bi-Centenary of Cox’s Pass 1815. Lawson’s Road 1822 and Berghofer’s Pass 1909. Short return walks on these 3 historic routes. Includes morning tea. This is a special walk – Adults $12.00
Sat 11th 1.30pm Lapstone Construction Railway 1910-1913 and East Portal of Lapstone Tunnel 1892.
Sat 2nd 1.30 pm Duck Hole – Glenbrook Creek. Old Roadway construction and pump site for railway water supply.
Sat 23rd 1.30pm Glenbrook Lagoon Precinct. Early Campsite and railway dam construction 1880.
Sat 13th 1.30pm The Mountain Murders. Lee Weller’s grave site 1896, and rock inscriptions.
Sat 4th 1.30pm Dunn’s Sawmill Site and earth dam, Brookside Creek, Lennox Bridge and old stone quarry.
Sat 25th 1.30pm Cox’s Road. Walk along a section of this historic road following the ridge-top from Linden to Woodford Trig. point.
Sat 22nd 1.30pm Faulconbridge Steam Sawmill Site. Engine remnants and other relics operated 1914-1925.
Sat 26th 9.00am Glenbrook Discovery – Heritage Walk. Historic sites, houses and West Portal of Lapstone Tunnel 1892. (Last walk for the year).
